St. Anne’s Grants
In 2024, grants from St. Anne's were awarded to various non-profit organizations.
One of the organizations that received funding was STAIR (Start the Adventure in Reading - Annapolis). It's application for a grant commented that "STAIR has a simple mission: to partner second graders reading below grade level with volunteers who work with them one-on-one to build their self-confidence and improve their reading skills. Originally a mission project for First Presbyterian Church, STAIR began tutoring children at the Stanton Center in 2006."
In a recent report from STAIR, it indicated that "[t]he generous grant we received from St. Anne’s enabled us to strengthen our program by purchasing a new curriculum and updating our teaching resources, including the addition of content-rich student readers....The grant also helped us to purchase attractive, organized reading carts for each of our sites that contain leveled books, student totes with curriculum and all teaching materials, student binders, and group games."
The Grants Committee has invited each organization that received funding in 2024 to participate in an Adult Forum on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Parish House. All are welcome to attend.
