The governing board of an Episcopal church, they oversee the financial administration and health of the parish. Our vestry members often serve as a liaison to a particular aspect of the church's life and communicate the ongoing joys and challenges of the parish.

    Biography: As a fourth-generation military servant, Kev Hays has lived throughout the US and Europe. He graduated from USNA in 1984, during which time he attended St. Anne’s regularly. While at USNA, he was an active member of the Youth Group. The Hays family moved back to Annapolis in 1997; they have been active members at St. Anne’s since. Kev retired from the U.S. Navy after a fulfilling 20-year career.

    Kev is married to Laurie, who is on the music staff and previously led the St. Anne’s Youth Choirs and music for the Sycamore Tree. They have three daughters, Meghan, Brenna and Kelly, who attended St. Anne’s until departing for college. Kelly was married at St. Anne’s in 2016. Kev’s service to St. Anne's includes Acolyte (as a Midshipman), Lay Reader, Evening Prayer Leader, Youth Group/Education, Rector Search Committee (serving with the special privilege as the committee’s Chaplain), and Partners in Mission in Guatemala (currently serving as Chair).

    Biography: I have been following Jesus since the age of 13. My early childhood did not include church attendance or any religious instruction. But this changed when my parents became Christians and we joined an evangelical church when I was in the 6th grade. This represented a fundamental change in our daily lives. As a family we became very involved in church activities - my father became a worship (music) leader and my siblings and I were very active in youth group, Sunday school and our church’s K-12 school. I attended Gordon College, a small Christian liberal arts college in Massachusetts. After college, I spent a year in Zimbabwe, Africa volunteering at an orphanage and then attended Notre Dame Law School where I met my husband, Doug, who grew up attending St Anne’s. Doug and I moved to Washington, DC after law school where I spent 15 years working on education policy for Congress and the federal government. We moved to Annapolis in the summer of 2000 and began attending St. Anne’s. Our oldest child, Baillie (18), was baptized at St Anne’s in 2002. For a variety of reasons we attended another church in Annapolis for about 6 years but returned to St Anne’s when Amy Richter became Rector. Our other two children, Claire (13) and Robbie (16), have also been baptized at St. Anne’s. I am so grateful for the wonderful community of St Anne’s which has encouraged Doug and I as we’ve raised our children and helped our whole family grow in our faith.

    Biography: Hutchey Doley was born in Chattanooga, TN and raised in Washington DC. She attended an Episcopal school and St. Albans Episcopal Church. Her first career was in teaching before starting a family and moving to Annapolis. She and her husband Chris Doley joined St. Anne’s Parish as soon as they settled in Annapolis and had all four of their children baptized here. Fellow parishioners, Barbara Tower and Fran Lukens, invited Hutchey to join the founding St. Anne’s School Board of Trustees with the goal of transforming the St. Anne’s Nursery and Kindergarten into an independent preschool through 8th grade school grounded in the rich tradition and values of Episcopal education. Hutchey served on the Board for nine years and then moved into the school’s administration for 13 years. She is proud and honored to now serve as a co-Chair of the school’s 30th Anniversary Committee. For the last 5 ½ years, Hutchey has enjoyed working in the development office of her alma mater in DC, connecting with alumnae, parents, and other community members to invite engagement and philanthropic support.

    Biography: In 2016, my wife Lynn and I moved to Annapolis from England where we lived for four years.

    We have been married for 46 years with most of that time spent in Connecticut. I have always tried to help and be of service wherever needed. Professional Experience: I have over forty years of engineering, program management and corporate experience most of which has been with Electric Boat in Connecticut. I’ve negotiated major contracts and managed small programs as well as multi-million dollar programs. I have managed large and small groups. Education: BS Mechanical Engineering; MS Mechanical Engineering; MBA. Volunteer Experience: Chairman of the Town Council in Ledyard CT; Member of the allocations panel for United Way of Southeastern CT; Worked with Habitat for Humanity constructing/renovating houses in CT and MD; Coached youth league soccer; Assisted Boy Scout leaders, Served as Treasurer of United Congregational Church in Pawcatuck, CT, Served as Treasurer of Christ Church in Westerly, RI.

    Biography: grew up in the Annapolis area and have attended St. Anne’s all my life, with a few breaks for college and graduate school. I sang in the St. Anne’s junior choir as a child under the direction of John Cooper- I still remember those days of running around St. Anne’s as a kid with great fondness. In confirmation class in 2000 Meg Kimble told me, “God gave you a brain, and He expects you to use it.” This message has stayed with me, and remains a key reason why I’ve felt at home in the Episcopal Church. Questioning can be a powerful tool in the exploration of faith, and I’m glad there’s room for it in our tradition.

    After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Hiram College in Ohio and master’s degree in continental philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago, I changed directions completely and went to work for the Smithsonian in 2010. It turns out that material culture and the stories you can tell with it is the perfect niche for me, and I have been the Collections Database Administrator at the National Postal Museum for the past five years.

    Present work in church: Clerk of Vestry, 2019- Co chair of Communications Evangelism Ministry and Back-to-School Backpack Ministry. Coordinator of virtual Evening Prayer since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Active in altar service. Reconciliation Ministry. Forum Committee.

    Biography: I am a longtime Washington-based journalist and former newspaper reporter and am currently the executive senior editor at Communications Daily. My wife Mary Greczyn and I moved to Annapolis in 2019 from Laurel, in part to be closer to St. Anne’s. After our first trip to Israel, we came away with a burning conviction we needed to make a much bigger commitment to dedicating our lives to Christ and to service. We have been active in church since. I am a returning Episcopalian. We also attend Church on the Square in Baltimore on Saturdays, virtually since March. That church is a joint venture of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland and the ELCA and a kind of testbed for reaching younger people who too often today are reluctant to become involved with a church.

    Biography: My wife Ariel and I were married in 1992 and moved to Annapolis. St. Annes has been central to our lives since then. Our two children started attending St. Annes the week after they were born. I treasure the friends, community, and spiritual presence at St. Annes and pledge to support and strengthen those essential features of our parish as a member of the Vestry.

    I have a lengthy history of leadership positions and participation. In the early 1990’s, Ariel and I were co-chairs of the Steeple People, the middle school youth group of that time. In the mid 1990’s, I assisted in the selection of associate clergy. Throughout the 1990’s, Ariel and I led the Young Adults group, which fostered community spirit and ran social events for the parents of young children. In the mid 1990’s, I was vice-chairperson of the Stewardship Committee, a role which evolved into membership on the Capital Campaign Committee (originally focused on raising funds for the Undercroft), and then eventually into Co-Chairmanship with Bill Wilbert of the RENEX Committee (Renovations and Expansion Committee) from approximately 1998 to 2004, which organized and managed all aspects of the Parish renovations. From 1995 to 2005, Ariel and I helped operate the Children’s Liturgy program, conducted in the back of the church during the mid-morning Sunday service, and I served as chairperson of the Childhood Education Board and the Youth Minstry Committee.

    From 2007 to 2009 I served on the Rector Search Committee. From 2010 to 2014, I served on the Vestry. In 2017, I was a member of the Parish’s Facility Use Committee, In 2018 I chaired the Parish Profile Committee, which assisted the Vestry in selecting our Rector. I see an Episcopal Vestry potentially serving as spiritual and organizational leaders in the parish, as well as collaborating with the Rector regarding parish priorities, policies, and procedures, and serving as a conduit for the parish community to be heard.

    I am pleased at the direction the Parish has taken under Rev. Manoj’s leadership since he started in 2019, and I hope that the Vestry will continue to support and foster the growth in community and spiritual discernment we have seen in the past 4 years.

  • Lauren Dana – Evans was born and raised in Northern Virginia and moved to Annapolis when she married her wife, Carrie. Together she and Carrie have two children and one elderly cat and have been members of St. Anne's for the last 12 years.

    Lauren received her bachelor's degree from The College of William and Mary, and her law degree from Tulane Law School. She spent seven years as a practicing attorney before moving to U.S. Bank to work in regulatory risk. In her current role at the bank, she is the Vice President and Operational Risk Manager, focusing on product and service delivery risk.

    Lauren works from home full time. Here at St. Anne's, she has spent several years singing in the choir prior to having children and was the Vice Chair of the Rector Search Committee in 2018

    Occupation: Chief Operations Officer/Managing Director, Cambridge Global Advisors

    Present work in church: Hosting, supporting, and attending youth/family activities, leading or contributing to various volunteer efforts (Holy Water Stop, Thanksgiving Baskets, Backpack Buddies, etc.), and participating in regular, annual pledging and giving.

    Biography: It is with joy and gratitude that I share with you my journey, which began in Michigan, where I was baptized, completed 12 years of catechism, and was confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Albee. In pursuit of my career, I ventured to Washington DC in 2005, spending several years at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill, and eventually finding a home and being received into the Episcopal Church at St. Anne's in 2014.

    Since moving to Annapolis in 2012, I have immersed myself in various local organizations focused on engagement, service, and community development. At St. Anne's, I've been privileged to contribute to efforts such as the annual Holy Water Stop and activities nurturing the spiritual growth of our youth and families. Beyond our parish, I have found purpose as a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and the Junior League of Annapolis. Chairing JLA committees focused on social engagement and new-member welcoming, I’ve aimed to embody the inclusivity inherent in our Episcopal tradition.

    Professionally, I currently serve as Chief Operations Officer of Cambridge Global Advisors, a national security consulting firm based in D.C. which develops campaigns for governments, candidates, corporations, and non-profits. My academic journey includes earning a Masters in Public Policy from George Washington University and a B.A. in Social Relations from Michigan State University.

    Currently, I reside in Severna Park with my husband, Jason Houser, who is completing a tenure as St. Anne's Senior Warden. Our union was blessed at the Michigan State University Alumni Chapel in 2009, and our family is enriched by the vibrant spirits of our two children, Lyndon (9) and Caroline (5), who keep mom busy with many sports, dance, music, and Cub/Girl Scouts activities.

    Biography: I have been a member of St. Anne’s church for 15+ years. Professionally, I am an educator and have taught school in this county for 42 years. I am a learning specialist. I currently serve as the fifth-grade teacher, chair of Professional development, and as a strategic planning committee faculty representative for St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Severna Park Maryland. I am a member of Live Arts Maryland, proudly representing that group as chorus manager for 40+ years, and I serve on the Board of directors with that outstanding organization. In May, I will be receiving a master’s degree in theology from St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. At St. Anne’s I have served on both the profile and facilities committees. I serve as a lector and as a choir member.

    St. Anne’s is my spiritual home, and the people are the community that I depend upon for support and fellowship. Our beautiful facility is more than a historic marker in Annapolis, it is a vital, living congregation. St. Anne’s call all to the love of Jesus – regularly investing the church in the care and nurture of our community – from Light House Shelter to Homework Club to Guatemala. St. Anne’s truly lives into the charge to go out and “do the work You have given us to do.” I am honored to serve as Vestry member.

    Present work in church: I have served as an evening prayer leader, chalice bearer and lector

    Biography: Emily is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, where she has been a member of the faculty since 1995. She holds Master’s degrees from Oxford University and the University of Chicago, and a PhD from Emory University where she was a Jacob K. Javitz Fellow. Before assuming her current role as head of the Graduate Institute in 2015, she taught in the Graduate Institute and throughout the all-required multidisciplinary undergraduate program at St. John’s. She has been particularly interested in efforts to expand and democratize access to discussion-based liberal education. She serves on the Advisory Council of the Touchstones Discussion Project and the Board of the Great Questions Foundation, and has been involved in the development and implementation of educational programming for K-12 schools, for community colleges, and for governmental and non-governmental organizations including the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the Aspen Institute.

    Emily is married to Ken Brooker Langston, who also regularly attends St. Anne’s, and the mother of Rachael Langston, who is currently spending a year in the Episcopal Service Corps at Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook, NY.

    Occupation: Management Consultant – Executive Coach & Facilitator

    Biographical Statement and Vestry qualifications:

    My wife, Susan, and I moved to Annapolis in 2005 and became members of St. Anne’s in 2013, drawn by its welcoming community. In 2015, I joined the Vestry and served on both the Facilities and Human Resources (HR) Committees, contributing to the church’s mission behind the scenes. At the conclusion of my Vestry term, Father Manoj invited me to establish and chair a dedicated HR Committee to address critical needs for policies and processes impacting both St. Anne’s and PASA staff.

    Over the course of five years as Chair, the Committee undertook several key initiatives: guiding the development and expansion of the employee handbook and creating a separate, comprehensive PASA faculty handbook to address the specific needs of the school’s staff. Additionally, we collaborated closely with Father Manoj and the Executive Committee to formalize staff position descriptions and standardize the hiring process, ensuring clarity and consistency across the church’s staff. As Committee Chair, I also led the search, interview, and onboarding processes for clergy and lay staff, providing structure and support during a number of critical transitions. Our work frequently included advising the Rector on complex staffing matters, drawing on the Committee’s experience to offer thoughtful and strategic counsel. Prior to stepping away from the HR Committee Chair position in 2024, I facilitated a visioning exercise with the Vestry during its annual retreat, helping it align on future goals and priorities.

    In all, these experiences have deepened my connection to St. Anne’s and reinforced my commitment to its mission of service and community. It’s been a privilege to be part of St. Anne’s work and mission through the years and to collaborate with such dedicated clergy, staff, and parishioners. Through my service with the Vestry, HR Committee, and in other volunteer positions, I’ve been fortunate to be part of something larger while also deepening my faith. I look forward to continuing to support St. Anne’s as it continues to build, engage, evangelize, and form discipiles both here in Annapolis and the wider world.

    Present work in church: Lector/Prayer Leader

    Biography: Father of three fantastic and thriving adult children, a lifelong Episcopalian, and a fan of outdoor activities, Annapolis has been home for 34 years. I was raised between New England and the New York Metro area, but the desire to live elsewhere allowed me to find Annapolis and all that it has to offer between sailing, the vibrance of a college town, and some southern charm. I resumed a transactional real estate career upon moving here which compelled me to “get involved” as a way to meet people and learn more about the community. This began with the Annapolis Jaycees, followed by the Anne Arundel Trade Council which led to a long-term commitment to Leadership Anne Arundel, including board presidency. The Midshipmen Sponsorship Program brought tremendous joy, mentorship for our children, and enduring relationships to our family. Giving back to our United States Naval Academy has enriched all of our lives and inspired each of our kids.

    St. Anne’s became my church home soon after moving here as a single person but it became an important aspect of our family once our children were born. Our children were baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s. After many years of career, church, and volunteer involvement, Annapolis has become home, and St. Anne’s remains a meaningful source of support.

    Biographical Statement and Vestry qualifications: 

    I believe in the mission of St. Anne’s, and I believe the world is a better place because the Episcopal Church exists.  I am committed to seeing the Church grow, so my children and grandchildren, and all the world’s children, might know the great joy, inspiration and peace that comes from faith.  I recently retired from a 20-year career with the Army where I was privileged to command at the detachment, company and battalion level.  I led hundreds of people during my career and was a career intelligence officer.  I worked mostly in the fields of counterintelligence and human intelligence, protecting some of our nation’s most sensitive information from foreign adversaries and working to obtain sensitive information from those same adversaries.  I managed multi-million-dollar budgets and was responsible for the safe and effective conduct of intelligence operations worldwide.  During my military career I deployed four times to Iraq and once to Afghanistan, for a total of 52 months overseas.  I currently volunteer as a mentor with the Severn Leadership Group, an organization committed to instilling the ideas of servant leadership into mid-career professionals.   I also volunteer with Walk the Walk Foundation, collecting diapers, Christmas gifts and school supplies for families in need.  My wife Caroline is a civilian attorney for the Army, after having served previously as a Special Agent with the FBI.  We have a six-year-old daughter named Claire and a two-year old son named Casey, along with our dog Tyson and a tortoise named Shelly.  I am pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at American University in Washington, D.C.

    St. Anne’s has been an anchor for me since my young family moved to Annapolis in 1996. It is in this community that I have experienced and witnessed the loving kindness, compassion, and redemption of our Lord and the spiritual formation, worship, and depth of friendships that have sustained me and my family on life’s journey. It is where my three children knew they belonged, regularly attending and serving in worship services, receiving spiritual formation, participating in outreach and fellowship, and being known, called by name, and loved by many generations of parishioners. St. Anne’s is where they were baptized and confirmed, where my husband Milford and I were married, and where more recently my daughter Brooke and her husband returned to Annapolis to celebrate their marriage. It is the trusted community where, with God’s help, I have been and continue be encouraged and equipped to live out my baptismal vows, seeking to love and serve the beloved children of God within our parish and in the wider community and world. I have served for more than a decade in several ministries and helped launch others both in pastoral care (Stephen Ministry) and five years ago in global mission (Naomi’s Village).  

    I am honored to be considered to serve as a member of the Vestry of St. Anne’s. With my long-standing experience in this parish, I look forward to supporting the growth and continuance of this sacred community. 

  • I moved to Annapolis in 2005 and joined St. Anne's church in 2006.  In the 19 years that I've been a part of St. Anne's, I have served as a Sunday School teacher, a music leader for Vacation Bible School, a delegate to the diocesan convention, and a long-standing member of the choir.  My wife, Kate, joined the church when we got married in 2011, and both of my children (Anna and David) have been baptized here.  The contribution of which I'm most proud is my participation on the search committee that ultimately selected Father Manoj as rector, and I look forward to more opportunities to contribute to the our church's important work under his leadership.

    Biography:I was raised in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in my hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. I attended a variety of different denominations through high school and college and found a home at the University Chapel at Mississippi State University through a kind Episcopalian Priest. I was baptized and confirmed in 1984. In August 1984, my husband Ed and I married and I moved to Annapolis and I joined my husband in becoming a member at St. Annes. Our children attended Sunday School and Pre-school at St. Annes and both our sons, Edward and Christian were married there. Our granddaughter, Evelyn was christened in 2019. I have been fortunate to be active in many aspects of St. Annes, including, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, development of the Outreach Committee, Stephen Ministry, Chalist and the excellent EFM program led by our dear Meg Kimball.  

  • Biography:

    I am a lifelong resident of Severna Park and have been an active member of the churches where I have worshipped. I was baptized as a Lutheran, confirmed as a Methodist, and married as an Episcopalian (since 1990) to my high school sweetheart, Anne-Marie Price Poulton. We have two children, Mary-MacIntyre and Caroline, who are 25 and 23 years old, respectively.

    I attended Washington and Lee University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and American History. Following graduation, I attended the University of Maryland School of Law, where I served as the Executive Editor of the Law Review. I worked at Ober, Kaler, Grimes, and Shriver for 10 years, during which I was the hiring partner, a member of the associates' committee, and the head of the tax group, among other leadership roles (captaining the softball team was probably my highlight).

    For the past 23 years, I have worked at Brown Investment Advisory and Trust Company, where I have also served in various leadership capacities. I specialize in estate and income tax planning, with a focus on tax-exempt organizations. Due to this experience, I have served on various boards of directors for charities in the Baltimore and Annapolis areas.

    At my previous church, Saint Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Severna Park, Maryland, I served in several roles, including member of the vestry, legal counsel to the church, head of the search committee for our interim priest, member of the school board, teacher of the confirmation class, and usher. Additionally, I have served on several charitable organizations, including US Lacrosse, Inc., US Lacrosse Foundation, Inc., First Fruits Farm, Inc., First Fruits Farm Foundation, Inc., the Center for Environmental Studies at Washington College, the River and Field Campus, LLC, and various private foundations for my clients.

    Recently, I served on the Vestry at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church and was the head of the Stewardship Committee during the 2024 calendar year. I am also a visiting professor at Washington College in Chestertown, MD, where I have the privilege of sharing my knowledge and experience with students.

    I welcome the opportunity to continue serving St. Anne’s Church as an alternative delegative to the regional council convention.

    Biography: Father of three fantastic and thriving adult children, a lifelong Episcopalian, and a fan of outdoor activities, Annapolis has been home for 34 years. I was raised between New England and the New York Metro area, but the desire to live elsewhere allowed me to find Annapolis and all that it has to offer between sailing, the vibrance of a college town, and some southern charm. I resumed a transactional real estate career upon moving here which compelled me to “get involved” as a way to meet people and learn more about the community. This began with the Annapolis Jaycees, followed by the Anne Arundel Trade Council which led to a long-term commitment to Leadership Anne Arundel, including board presidency. The Midshipmen Sponsorship Program brought tremendous joy, mentorship for our children, and enduring relationships to our family. Giving back to our United States Naval Academy has enriched all of our lives and inspired each of our kids.

    St. Anne’s became my church home soon after moving here as a single person but it became an important aspect of our family once our children were born. Our children were baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s. After many years of career, church, and volunteer involvement, Annapolis has become home, and St. Anne’s remains a meaningful source of support.
